30 years ago in 1988 my then girlfriend took me blindfolded to a music store in Northampton, England , sat me on a chair, and what felt like a guitar was put in my hands. She took the blindfold off and I was holding a Charvel Model 1A in black. Cool! I was then offered a red Fender Squier. Which to choose? I could pick what I liked. Never regretted choosing my darling 1A. She still plays beautifully and has never needed attention of any sort..... and when I now compare her value to a Squier - WOW!
