• Some news about my Charvel

Hi folks.

I've recently changed the pickups for my Charvel 375DLX
Of course I kept the old stock Jacksons alive and kicking in case I might have use for them some day.

I installed Dimarzio Pickups.
The neck is equipped with a Chopper, the middle with a Cruiser and the Bridge Pup is a Norton.

Well, the sound generally is bigger and fatter.
It's got little less brightness, especially the Neck pickup
but I've come to understand that's how a Neck Pup should sound.

I also got to a conclusion that I want to change my gear.
Haven't decided yet on which but I ain't loving too much all these Amp Modelers, we'll see...

I hope to get the best out of the guitar now.
I got a very specific sound and it's powerful now.
And I simply love this guitar.

More reports and share of thoughts later...

Take care all!

BetaCAM.

That's great, these are terrific guitars and it sounds like your very happy with yours. As far as the modelers, have you tried the POD XT yet?

what are you using now? I have tried the line 6 products, and will use the pod for practice in my apartment, but for live i need a tube amp. And contrary to belief, i love both my marshall and my mesa, yes you can love both.

Re: Some news about my Charvel

Hi!

thanx for the replies.

I'm very satisfied with my guitar now.

As far as my gear goes, I currently own POD2.
That's it... I had a peavey solid state I didn't like.
I don't have a decision regarding the Gear I want.

Pod XT is way too expensive and no one imports Line6 to where I live anymore since they moved to
Euro currency.

I might be slowly building a rig that would include a good
Preamp, possibly a Tube one, multi effect,
power amp and cabinets...
I don't believe I'd find the sound I want through a Combo.

Cheers!

where do you live, and i guess we take for granted in the states how easy it is for us to get equiptment sometimes. Anyway good luck on building your rig, i finally got mine finished.

Thanx!

I live in Israel.

Well, I still have the stock Pickups:
2 J100's and one J90C...

Any thoughts as to what should I do with these?

Re: Some news about my Charvel

Personaly i dont care for the stock pickups on older jacksons or charvels, but i have not played many so i am sure they do make some great ones. I couldnt even begin to tell you what to put in without knowing the style of music you play. And if you are asking about the old pickups, personaly if you plan to sell the guitar keep them, as you will not be able to sell them for much, you can always throw them back in the guitar and keep the good ones you installed.

Will you do an album called: "Israelie Gears"? You have to be pretty old to get this one.
