got it looks better than the pics on ebay .
a creamy yellow . does the model 1 say made in
japan on it mine doesn't it just got the address
of chavel usa on the plate ,fort worth [img]/images/graemlins/scratchhead.gif[/img]

These imports originally had a "made in japan" sticker on the neck plate. In most cases, those were quickly removed by the buyer or unscrupulous store owner. I actually bought a 1A last month with the sticker intact - of course I promptly removed it!
