I also had an '86 Model series and thought it was the best playing of the model series I've played (which included a Model 3, Model 2, Model 3DR and a Model 88 from either '87, '88 or whenever).

I took the Kahler off my '86 Model 3 and put a Floyd on it. That was my main guitar for a decent amount of time and played better than some USA-made guitars I've had from other brands.

Since I have never played a 750XL my opinion stands with the Model 6, but from the looks of a 750XL I'll probably be corrected after playing such a guitar.
