My first Charvel!

Picked up my first Charvel a few days ago - a real beauty in near perfect shape! It plays like a dream.

It's got a Gotoh trem on it - those weren't used by Charvel, right, so it must have been installed later? Also, does anybody know the exact name of the color?

Congrats. Looks nice. Not sure of the color name.

Looks like whoever installed the new trem routed out behind it for pull-back action - looks like a decent job too.

I have a model 7 in that color, and when the MOAIP was up, I found they called it Burgundy Mist.

Nice!! Yes, it is burgundy mist. The jury is still out with me on that type of routing. My Model 3DRs have them, but I can't say that I've used the tremolos enough on them to say that I like it.

Very nice guitar, looks to be in great shape.

I've had a 650 and a 5FX with that kind of route. If you must have the room to pull back on the trem then this is the way to go over a recessed trem. For some reason (I have no idea why) I like the feel of a top mount OFR over a recessed. I may even think it sounds better, call me crazy [img]/images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img]

Gotta love those model 4's, nice one Skaaning. Just curious what's that other guitar lying there in the 3rd pic? It's not model 2 is it?

Thanks for the comments! Yes, I think I did pretty well with my first Charvel as well! The Gotoh trem seems nice, but I'd just wish it weren't recessed - I like top mounted trems better too.

Nice axe! That's actually my favorite color of the model series. Someone here has my old model 4 that's identicle to that one, and also my old 3DR in that color........wait....and yeah, also my old model 3!! I must have liked that color! I always thought it was called Salmon???? I still kick myself in the ass for selling those guitars.
