My first Charvel was a Red 1986 Model 2 purchased in early 87. I traded a Roland spirit amp and an old JC Penny amp plus $50 for it. It was my number two for several years until I started to get into ESPs. Like an idiot I sold it off. To this day I still regret selling it off. Because of that I have a problem with selling guitars. If a new enters my guitar stable its found a permanent home.

87 Black Cherry model 5. I picked it up at a local Guitar store and nothing else I ever had ever played like it. Sold my 80 Les Paul Standard to get it. It was my first rand new guitar.

My first charvel was a red model 1 around early 1987 or 88 brand new. I was just learning to play then. I remember it didn't stay in tune at all and I sold it. I later bought a white model 2 w/kahler locking trem and loved it. I've also owned a model 6 and I currently own a custom built Charvel model 1 with a reverse stock legend neck built by JCF member TxCharvel. I wish I still had them all.

Another Pearl White Model 2 here. I bought mine new in early 1989 thru Sam Ash via the mail. My friend would receive mail flyers from Sam Ash twice a year. The flyer from that winter advertised them as buying all the remaining stock from Charvel with the older (non-toothpaste) logo and "blowin out" the Model 2's for $150 a pop. They had either Red or White for colors. I knew of the Model 2 since I played a friend's and knew it was a good deal since he paid $400 for it. I came across the receipt for it a while back and it was like $153 and change...3 bucks for shipping?!

Later that summer, I was in NYC and visited the Sam Ash store on 40th St. and low and behold the entire center of the store was filled with Model 2's in those white trapezoidal boxes! Of course, now I'm kicking myself for not buying more than one, but it was a lot of money foo me at the time...and I still have it. All the hardware's been changed thru the years. I demolished the JT-6 trem early on, then put a Ibanez Edge, than an OFR. I had 2 or 3 pickups in it before settling on the EMG 81. Fit's like a glove.

An 86 Red Model 6... Just got it last Dec. The first guitar I ever wanted was a 87 White Model 4 but never could afford it. Then I started liking neck thru and the dinky sized body so the model 6 was the perfect choice.

My first Charvel was a white Model 4 purchased new in '86. I was actually looking to buy a white Model 2 but the guitar stores would never have them in stock. So I finally resolved to buy a Charvel and walked out of Guitar Showcase with my first Charvel. I decided on Charvel mainly because of the '85 Charvel my guitar teacher would let me play. I fell in love with it and I bought it off of him a couple of years later (my third Charvel). [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

My first Charvel was a red Model 1...she's also my first guitar...still have her and always will!

My first was a Metallic Red Model 1C that I got at Music Mall for 230 with pretty messed up chainsaw case. I bought it to have a guitar to tune to E flat with so I could play Van Halen songs. It never stays in tune though.

I know this might piss a couple people off, but the model series are better payers than any San Dimas Charvel I've played.

black model4 with maple neck had the active pickups with midboost weighed a ton but sustained for days, that was a nice guitar 700 bucks in 1990

Mine was a '91 650XL. I'd been playing a '72 LP Custom for years and was totally resistant to the whole "metal guitar" thing. Walked into a GC one day with way too much cash and tried everything they had. It was love at "first play" and Charvels have been my choice from that day on. I still check out all the others from time to time, but would rather spend my $$ on and old Charvel than a new "whatever".

Mine is a Black Charvel model 2 with JB humbucker and a kahler ....I needed a guitar to shred on since my warlock plays like ass. It's my main guitar right now.

a jet black model 7 with the white binding, reverse headstock, etc.... it's my main guitar right now. I've played a ton of other Charvels that I've loved, but I'm not big on floating bridges so that's stopped me from getting another one.
