, meaning there weren't any (just rosewood or maple) unless you modded it!...ebony dye makes it ebony, right?

Didn't the model A have an ebony board? The few places I saw that still list them say ebony in the description. It's a Charvel and it's an import.

I was thinking of the early Models 1-7 and the toothpaste-logo Charvels...which didn't have ebony. Wasn't really considering the later stuff as I got no experience with them!

We know what you were thinking. That's why it's so funny to point out the model A.

Just kidding. I had to research it because I couldn't remember either.

I have a few Model A's so I know they have ebony boards. I was curious about the older models. What about the 750's? 650's? .... nothing? You mean to tell me the only import with ebony is the model A? And now they don't make em.

None of the old 80's to early 90's model series Charvels had ebony. The 650s and 750s definitely had rosewood, I've got one of each. Honestly though, I think I've come to the realization that I prefer rosewood to ebony.

Rosewood is definitely less tempermental. There is less worry of it cracking if the board dries out compared to ebony.
