I know this was covered many a time on the old board, but can someone refresh my memory as to what's involved in swapping out the JT6 style trem on model 2's to a OFR? Thanks!

Re: Jt6 to Floyd swap
I know it works most times, but I have now encountered two guitars I couldn't do the swap in. Both were 1988 Soloists. The stud spacing was just a hair off from the Floyd making the Floyd hang up in its travel, especially upward movement.

Re: Jt6 to Floyd swap
Mine had a hangup problem also. It turned out to be the part on the underside of the trem that accepts the bar was larger than the one on the JT-6 and was rubbing against the route. I just removed enough material to allow it to move freely.

Re: Jt6 to Floyd swap
I noticed that rub as well. On my red Soloist I took a little of the wood down, it still was sticking and was in the stud spacing. I didn't want to take the wood down on the archtop, so i left the JT6 in. I have had a couple of other guitars that swapped smoothly though, so it is worth trying.

Re: Jt6 to Floyd swap
I have done a model6& model 2 no problems at all dropped right in.I put one in my fusion H-H and again dropped right in.The fusion had the JT580 LP but the standard floyd works with no problems.Really? well screw Mark Twain.
