  • Interference Charvel Strat

    Hello everyone.

I did some searching and didn't find any details on the interference Charvel strats. Does anyone know anything about this guitar they could share? I don't even know the freakin' model number or name.

I put the Seymour Duncans, and the thing plays great.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me!

CX series made in Korea late 90s.Nice paint maybe a refin I don't think the Korean ones came in flip flop paint at least that is the first one I've seen.Looks nice.

the trem is also not stock, the floyds on those guitars were some really weird knockoff from I-dont-know-what-weird-kind-of-locking-trem. I think it is a cx391

Definitely a refin. Even the headstock seems to be re-done. The headstock of the CX series had the model designation on it and the 390 and 391 had the faces of the headstocks painted black. The tremolo is the Jackson JT580 tremolo.

BTW - Glad to see you here Chad, the Racer X site/board is great.

Hey guys...this is not a refin...it's got the factory stamp in the neck pocket over the interference paint.

            Funky.

Interesting. Maybe you got one where they were x-perimenting with new colors.

I've owned a couple of CX Charvels. For 2 years in the early 90s a CX392 was my main axe, while I was enduring the poverty of grad school. Overall I think they are very underrated instruments. That flip-flop finish is tres cool.

Right on, man. I've got it up on Ebay since Wayne and Michael Charvel are making me a Rock Legend, but it is a GREAT fiddle!
