My FIRST Charvel! Model 1A. Help me date it please

Just got my little red Charvel Model 1A today

I would like to know when it was made, I know it was made in Japan, it has the "Fort Worth" neckplate.

Serial Number is 286846 (hmm all even numbers)

I was thinking maybe 86, just because there is an 86 in there, but I dont really know.
