550XL - what do you think?

hi bros, does anyone have a 550XL and what do you think about this guitar?
i´m thinking about buying one and i have no clue, so please give me some advice.

These are very sweet guitars. Basically a soloist with a rosewood board and dots, no binding. H/S configuration.

The quality for this era of Japanese Charvels rivaled the USA models. If the price is right I say go for it.

550 is a neck-thru right? Sometimes the necks on these tend to be a little chunky (at least ones I have played compared to the bolt-ons)so make sure you play it a bit first. Other than that, as long as it is in decent shape you will get a great playing, great sounding axe. ENjoy it!

I've seen very few of this model. Did they make the fewest of this model compared to others of the same era? Or do those that have em, hold on to em, so they're never for sale?

I thought these were 24.75" scale, like the Fusions? I've only ever seen two of them, so...

isn't it simply the replacement of the model 5 fx??? that would make it simply a 25.5" scale, like the model 5

I have both 550XL & 5FX. I like the 550xl better because of schaller Trem that is the only real difference between the two.

Just buy it if its not to much. Its basically a student soloist with a H/S and a great trem ( JT6 was not one of Jackson better idea).

I'm confused here, I thought the model 5FX was a 25.5 scale and the 550XL was a 24 3/4. I need more education on this (or maybe I should read more but my damned ADD always kicks in just about the time I'm trying to read something.

The only short scales are the 750XL , Fusions(USA and Import),SLS and the KV2T everything else is 25.5.
