Ok I've been working on my 450 I recently bought. I've replaced the fine tuning wheels on the Schaller and the intonation screws and the shanks. Now what the question is, have any of you had problems with strings popping out of the saddles?
I have an OFR and have NEVER had this problem, I love the Schaller as a matter of fact I think it holds tune a bit better than the Floyd. It had this problem before the replacement parts, so I don't think replacing the parts had an effect. Once I get the strings in they are ok, but it seems that the blocks in the saddles are really hard to move back to get the strings in and I have to stab the heck out of the sting to get it in there.
Is it the strings I use? I use GHS and again I have NEVER had this problem before. I'm probably insane, but just thought I'd put this out there just to see if there were any helpful hints.
