• Model series with 2 humbuckers and a Jackson JT6?

Basically I am asking if throughout the "Model" years if they ever made a Model 2 with an added neck humbucker? Same everything else but no pickguard, no neck through construction, no Kahler trem. etc... you get the idea.

Was there a Model 2A or were those designations reserved for the 1A and 3A?

I pretty sure the 87 and 88 model 3a are what you are looking for. Twin hums and JT6. The 86 3a has a pick gaurd and Kahler fulcrum. Tekky probably has a pick of one. I just checked the Gallery and surprisingly there isn't a single one in there. Hope this helps.

Very nice guys. Thanks Tekky for pulling that pic out, thats exactly what I was looking for. So they only made them in the 87 and 88 years? I think it will be even harder to find one of these at a reasonable price than I originally thought.

Technically it's 86-88, but after the first year there were changes in components. But that's no indication of you not seeing them online much. The Model 7 and 3DR were only made in 88 and you see them all the time. Just be patient, you'll find one for a good price.

i have the exact guitar that Tekky pictured. 200 pawn shop deleight! model 3a. i think there the best bang for the buck - but don't spend more than 300 on one.

                      model 3a live

i recommend replacing the JT6 with an OFR. better stability.

i recently had Sully make me a strat head from my black model 3 and it came out AMAZING!!!!!!!

Brad, cool guitar, but I'm looing for the 3a that Tekky pictured. Not a fan of pickguards or Kahlers.
