  • NGD: Charvel Model 6

I'm the new happy owner of this beautiful 1988 Charvel Model 6 in Burgundy Mist (this color is SO gorgeous) ! The previous owner replaced the JE-1200 by a JE-1000, which is pretty cool since I never tried this preamp !

I don't understand why I can't see the picture. I'm going to assume it has something to do with my settings but I haven't found it yet. I could see the Image codes in my before I posted my reply but I can't see the pictures. Damn frustrating!

Congratulations on the new to you Model 6!

It's not the first time it happens with one of my post, some people can see the pictures, others can't... I'll try to fix it !

I can see all the photos, so it might be a glitch on Razor's end.

Gosh that is beautiful. Is the JE-1000 controlled by the switch that replaced the third knob? So it's on/off rather than controlled by a knob that can taper the boost?

If I'm not wrong, the switch only controls the gain boost part of the JE-1000, for the preamp itself, you dial your tone with 3 micro-switches on the board, and it is ON all the time.

I don't see pics, either, whether on my computer or phone.

They disappeared for me too, I think it is because I took the pictures' URL from facebook uploads, and right now facebook is down. Anyway, I'll find a better way to upload them, sorry for the inconvenience

I noticed a little while ago FB is down, so maybe that does have something to do with it.

Niiice, gotta love some Burgundy Mist
I know the old saying that the value of an opinion is generally inversely proportional to the strength with which it is held.

HOT DAMN I don't know what happened but I can see some pictures of a kick ass Burgundy Mist Model 6. Very nice score!!!

I've always wanted a 3A in that color but the way pricing is now I'll probably just end up buying a San Dimas Pro Mod.

aren't the burgundy mist metallic pro-mods SATIN?

So glad I got my rainbow crackle for a steal. I then decided I wanted the same damn guitar with tags/mint in a box. So spent a ton tracking down an unplayed example. The hilarious thing is I was nervous about telling people I paid over $1k for a Model 6 at the time (15 years ago). Now days... Boy how things have changed.

Yeah prices are going insane, I've seen Model 6s on sale for higher prices than what I paid for any of my USA Jacksons...
Mine was a bit overpriced compared to what I was willing to pay for a model 6 (nothing crazy high, tho), but the color, the fact it was all original and in a very good condition convinced me, and I have no regrets, it's a fantastic guitar, and I don't know if it is the JE-1000, but it sounds crushing !
