Model 8 Identification

Hi.
Someone local to me has this for sale.
He says it’s a Japanese made model 8, but it’s really hard to find info on these. Plus, all of the model 8s I’ve seen have a reverse headstock, and this one doesn’t.
Also, it has a rainbow crackle finish, which I haven’t seen any with that.
Can anyone on here identify this guitar?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
