Tekky did you add a locking nut to that Model 1 neck? How hard is it to install the locking nut through the neck with the 2 holes? Or did you install one like the older locking nuts that are behind the nut?

I used the JT-6/Kahler nut. No muss no fuss.

Does it have tuning issues with basically 2 nuts? I've read the locking nut on the headstock in addition to the regular nut can be a bit unpredictable with tuning.

Nope. Not at all. I've had no problems. It's actually a really good system. It's just not as aestetically pleasing as the Floyd nut. (nor is it a huge conversion) Ask around, I'm sure others will also sing its praise.

Thanks Tekky, I may have to pick up a Model 1 then if the neck swap is as easy as unscrewing 4 bolts and replacing them and then mounting a locking nut. Can you post a pic to refresh my memory?

The JT-6 nut is based from Kahler nut designs, is it not?? One of the guitars I had had the Kahler flip-top nut and I replaced it with the JT-6 nut and everything was A-OK..

I don't know if it would be out of line. I just skimmed over the thread and I seem to remember it when you first posted. I love that color with the maple fretboard. Great work on the binding!

i had slight tuning issues untill i swapped out the jt-6 for an OFR. but it was probably cause the knife edges were worn on the jt-6.
