I am looking at an early import Charvel Model 3 or 4 to jack the black kahler flat mount off of for one of my SDs.

Any idea what the Model series neck and body would be worth if sold separately (or together) without the trem/locking nut (I know - sacralige - but I have been having a devil of a time finding a Black Kahler system without corrosion (let alone one at a reasonable price to replace a gold PAF Kahler which is just a little too flashy for me at the momemnt).

What do you guys think?

You can now get brand new khalers. The new Khalers are a little bit different, but mount up the same.

Also, www.axeparts.com has all manner of Khaler parts available.

Rosewood board Model series necks with dots have been fetching $50-60 lately. They used to do much better. I've seen the bodies go for more than that, as high as $100.

If it's a complete Model 4, you may be able to do pretty well since it will have the active pre-amp pickups installed. Those usually go for a fairly nice price.
