ummm...J-200's have the raised jackson log on them (except for in 86 or so I believe). If I hadn't just shipped off my last few J-200's, I would take aside by side comparison photo with the charvel singles. Thye have a totally different construction, different lead wires, and different DC resistance. Those Charvel logoed singles are NOT J-200's unless they made them in different factories using different parts and wanted them to sound different for the Charvel guitars.

I can't BELIEVE he sold it that cheap. A pawn shop is ONE thing but a guy selling it that cheap who KNOWS how superior these are to any strat I have ever played? Sweetest neck action I have ever felt! PERIOD. Blows away many of the jacksons at Guitar center and even many of the Ibanez.

I am &GulP* going to level, crown, and dress the frets myself. Seems REALLY eas to do with the proper tools and know how:

I got all the tools from Stew MAc Ordered on the way.

I also pickup fret wire and fret replacement tools. All in all it was quite expensive but my local tech wanted $250 to do a refret on my less Paul. I mean. WTF?! He only charges $99 for a level/recrown/redress.

I should be able to do the crown fine but certain things about the refret I am still looking into, but the supplies are comming. So a Drummel and several attachments..Oh, I KNOW. I have an 80's Kramer just dying to have its fret leveled crowned and polished, then scalloped!!

pictures load a little slow. If I can scallop it like he did I bet I could sell that $150 Kramer Focus 1000 for at leat 500 considering its in good condition, its CHERRY RED, has a brand new floyd rose (hardly used), a Tremsetter, AND six in-line Silver Sperzel locking tuners [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img] After the scallop you get a neck like this (slow pics to load):

THAT on a Cherry Red Kramer with excellent hardware should fetch a decent price.

I just bought one of these. Cherry sunburst, ash body, mint. Very cool guitar, nice neck and has a great natural resonance. Think I am going to replace the pickups though with some SD's.

Hi,
I'm new around here, so I hope it's OK to revive this thread. I also have a Charvel STX Custom, but it's a bit different from the one you describe. Mine is also HSS with Jackson logo on the pickups, a Schaller Floyd Rose double-locking trem, a 5-way switch but no mini-toggle. It also has staggered height tuners (Kluson style on the rear). I picked this one up at a pawn shop a couple of years ago. Although you can't tell from the pics (I should have cleaned it, eh?), it's a really nice guitar in perfect shape. Wonderful neck.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that when I got it I emailed Jackson to ask what year it was made and got this reply:
"It's a 1993 Japanese made STX Custom that retailed new for $895"

Actually. mine is an ST Custom. Man I have to say the more I play this thing the more I like it. Upgraded the pickups to Duncans. Sweet!
