Very Nice, Jimmy.... I wish I could paint like that.... But alas, my artistic talents ends with me playing the radio.

Looks good. A pic with glare from the lights is the true test for the clear coat. Judging from the reflection of the bridge on the body, it looks great!

Thanks guys!! I think I went overboard with the clear - I used 10 coats. The most difficult part was blending in the oranges and yellows, that was a major p.i.t.a.

I ordered a bunch of stuff from warmoth so when it arrives I'm going to try something else. Suggestions?

budman, the airbrush was the only way for me to get close to what I was looking for and it was pretty tricky. I wasn't sure I could make it look good, but the guy guiding me along was a great help and gave me tons of advice and confidence. I've seen your work Dave and I'm sure something like this would be no sweat for you. Good luck.
Cool, I was looking forward to the pics of this one! You did a killer job. It's hard to believe it's your first one! You didn't happen to take any shots of the masking steps, did you? I'd love to see that. I'll be polishing my first poly finish soon, so I've been reading quite a bit on the steps & materials. One of the best links I've come accross is this one at projectguitar. I've seen some of this guy's work on guitars & RC vehicles & it's pretty impressive.
