• Help please

Ok here's is the deal, my Model ones neck is over. Broken truss rod I need a replacement, I was thinking a Warmoth strat head all maple of course.

I want a flat mounted floyd rose put on the model one. I want NO pull backs at all, just dives. The repair guy said it may not be possible to order a neck that would fit the Model one and it might be next to impossible to make the floyd flat mount with such a neck.

    Any ideas of suggestions?
    Thanks

PS I posted this in the tech forum too just figured 2 shots are better than one!!

I don't see why it would be a problem. Normal "strat" necks should fit just fine. As for the trem, you may just want to block it from inside the cavity so that you can only pull back.

      Re: Help please

The neck pocket on a Model 1 is narrower than the neck pocket of a standard Strat. I have a USA Custom Guitars neck on my Model 1, but I had to specify the size of the heel when I ordered. If you talk to Tommy at USA he can tell you exactly what measurements he needs. The USA headstock isn't exactly a Strat headstock, but with a little sanding it can be.

Sorry, but I'm no help when it comes to the Floyd.

Here is my Model 1 with a Warmoth maple/maple Strat neck. There is a tiny gap on each side of the neck pocket but it is so small it's not worth mentioning (The Charvel neck is 2 1/4" and the Fender size is 2 3/16"). This is my favorite player, the action and feel is awesome.

You should be able to put a top mount OFR on it. You will just need to shim the neck to get the correct angle. I've done it on several guitars.

I would leave the Model 1 body as it is and get another guitar with a Floyd...

Just my humble opinion, actual mileage may vary

Hey txcharvel, was your Warmoth neck custom made for you or was it already pre made? I noticed that the end of the fret board after th 22 fret is straight while the one's on the Warmoth site are rounded.
