  • Model 7?

I have what I believe is a model 7. It is a black telecaster body, top is bound, it has two pickups (the bridge pu is quite a bit larger than the neck up), a three position slider switch, the neck has a "reversed head" which is black and the fretboard is maple. The neck plate stated "Ft. Worth"...and the serial number is 310XXX. I saw it in a pawn shot for $190 and got it for $130...It plays and sounds great!
Can anyone tell me how to date this and any info about the pickups? (I would include a photo, but I am to much of a computer duntz to figure it out!...any help and I will post it.)

If it is the guitar logo, then it is a Model 7 if it is a script logo then it is a "Legend".

That's a rare price. I've seen them go for an average of $300-350.

Grover Jackson's were made for the Japanese market only if I remember correctly. Nice score on that model 7, killer price ! I want one too...

Model 1A with a rosewood neck = parts guitar. Do you have other specs?

Locking tremolo + rosewood neck + single humbucker = Model 2
Vintage tremolo + maple neck + 3 single coil pickups = Model 1A

If you have to have one and want to overpay, go to www.chrisguitars.com. Chris has one on his other guitars page. He wants $450.

Sleep. The sound doesn't collapse to riffs of early eyes either.

Jest all you want about the price, but I would almost pay that for another Model 7. Yes, they're that good.
