it's starting to sound like a CX391, but the headstock is the "eagle beak" and the bridge pickup was a regular full-fledged humbucker. (though the early-early ones did have strat-heads)

CX is straight hum in the bridge tho.. I'd say it is a STX

      Does it look like this?

      STX catalog pic

Otherwise, you can use this site to narrow down your research. It sounds 90's MIJ so any catalog from 90-97 would probably nail it down.

Either way, I'd say it's likely to be not a San Dimas and 500 is too much. If you knew what the neck plate said..that may help too.

STX has a vintage tremolo and the triangle headstock. The best thing I can suggest is to get a picture of it.

I think some STX came with the JT590's..but I agree, without further decisive info, it is a guessing crap shoot.

I'm sorry you're right. The STX does have a JT590. Just in that picutre it's hard to see.

Re: Found it at a Pawn Shop...what is it?

yeah, other models of the STX also had the straight hum in the bridge. I'd say the defining feature to ID'ing this model would be in the style of headstock as you guys are pointing to.

A sift thru the 'chives would be his best bet.

The headstock looks just like this one but not this model

That's the "eagle beak" headstock, I'd say it's the CX391 with a possible modded bridge pickup. Definitely NOT a San Dimas. It was made in Japan. It's definitely not worth $500. $200 IF it's mint.

Found it! It is a 1992 STX. Thanks for all the help, now, what is it worth??? Its in very good shape, even has the plastic wrapping still on the picguard etc.

Here is the link to it.
