Hi everybody
I'm contemplating but is ambivalent over filling an extra cavity in my 550XL just to restore the original look (which I happens to like much better) and repaint the hole thing, probably in the same orginal colour.
However I'm not completely sure about it and I do not want to degrade the guitar value completely.
What are your personal preferences and experiences about refinished non-vintage guitars as for instance the late 80's Charvel imports?
A) Refinish is Ok and better value than a seriously worn guitar as long as the work is well performed and not just there to hide some cracks or obscure problems.
... or
B) I never buy any refinished guitars. A beaten player is better value any day than a good looking refinished dito.
C) My view is another...
Just curious . I do not mind some dings here and there myself but I usually prefer a model-correct original look and not to have any extra routings for more pickups and such.
Silly post perhaps but now it is here
Best regards/ Obi
