  • Newbie Charvel Question

Hey, in a month or two i'm looking into buying a Model 6 (i think it's the model 6) with the H/S/S, Neck thru and Kahler

What's the going rate for these and how easy would it be to find one?

    Cheers guys

    Re: Newbie Charvel Question

They are pretty easy to find on ebay. The older ones (1986)had the Kahler and later ones had the JT-6 trem. (1987-88) I have seen them sold on average about $400. The Kahler's don't demand quite that much so keep your eyes open and you may catch a good deal. IMO, the model 6's are as good a guitar as any. I love mine.

      Re: Newbie Charvel Question

Cheers man cause i'm really wanting a Kalher loaded stratshape.

The Model 6s come with Active JAckson pups and some kind of boost circuit? or am i pissing into the wind with this?
      What are the pups anyway?

Well, when i get the cash, i'll definatly look into it.

the thing is though, that as i live in scotland, most good deals come from the US (Exchange rate and stuff) but hardly any ebay sellers ship outside of the US... would it be better to deal internally with the JCF?

You are correct on the pups and boost.

And I do think it would be better to deal internally. I'm looking for one too, so you've got competition. :P (j/k)
You took too much, man. Too much. Too much.

The pickups are passive but the electronics is active I think. The 6 are amazing guitars, damn I wish everything was so cheap in the UK, a '6 here goes for more than 300 pounds/600 dollars.

Pickups are passive. They are Jackson humbuckers and stacked singles, J200s and a J50BC I think. The active electronics is a gain boost I believe as well. I've got a 650xl which is the updated Model 6 and it is a fantastic guitar. You won't be disappointed.
