If I remember correctly, it was designed to emulate a guitar that Jeff Beck had. 3 single coil pickups, double locking tremolo, reverse headstock... yes, it had a "half a pickguard".

I see,I allways thought it was sub model of a 1,2, or 3.or something like that?I remember seing it way back but wasn't very interested.and I thought the model series only went to 7.thanks for the info

I had a Model 4M exactly like that. It was my first ever Charvel, bought it new in 1989 for $525 with case. Great great guitar.
