Serial Number Questions

Hi- I ran across this guitar on Ebay and it has serial # 0331, Ft Worth plate. I have always seen 6 digit serial numbers before, so I thought they were all 6. Did the imports start out at 0001 and go up? What year was this guitar? It says 85 but that can't be right.

This is a Model 88 from 1988...less than 1000 made...import from Japan and this is the only import with the 4 digit #..

<font color="aqua">Shelby, just keep in mind that even though the seller says it's the original case, I believe those actually came with the Chainsaw style case specially made for the reverse headstock. Also, he doesn't mention any of the "case candy" that had the original certificate for it. Just some info I thought you might want to know. [img]/images/graemlins/cool.gif[/img] </font>

Ive been eyeballing that too, thats a hot guitar.

I have a weakness for sharktooths and reverse headstocks...
