Re: An import EVH?

I'd buy a model 3 in an instant, my first guitar...
I had never realized they were basswood. My model 3 was pretty heavy for basswood. I always thought it was mahogany, but never checked it out.

Eeeh my model 4 seems WAY too heavy to be Basswood. This thing is seriously heavier than a Les Paul

Basswood varies in weight as much as alder, though it can be typically lighter that alder. For instance, my Models 1 and 4 are about as heavy as my ash strat while my USA Fusion is the lightest guitar I've ever played (minus some steinbergers).

Poplar also varies in weight. My Jackson Dinky HX (string-thru Professional model) is very light, maybe even lighter than my swamp ash Carvin SC90.Definitely lighter than my alder Fender or any of the other alder guitars I've owned in the past. My old Charvel Model 5A and 6 were heavier, with the Model 6 being the heaviest.

Yeah, I have a Model 1A and its really heavy.

It has the thickest paint job i've ever seen too.

I would LOVE to see the model series re-issued. I would absolutely buy 1 of each.

Then why not buy one of each used for 'bout 1/2 a reissue would cost?

Why question what someone wants?

I'm not really questioning what he wants, I just wonder why so many people want a reissue of guitars that are pretty widely available at good prices. No offense ment there

Well, it happens a lot and it gets a little tiresome. I see a lot of second-guessing when it comes to things people want. When I wanted a Charvel San Dimas Standard and was having problems getting it, it infuriated me to no end when people started posting, "Why don't you get a GMW."

Back to the topic... I would imagine at this point JCMI is focusing on getting the current San Dimas lines and EVH Art Series out to those who ordered. (as evidenced by the Charvel showing at NAMM) A return to the Model Series would be a great idea for the long term. Hopefully they keep it in mind.

Ah okay then, didn't mean to offend anyone. I doubt that they'll reissue the Models any time soon though, as they'd probably be too big a competitor with the Jackson line, especially with the Mod6 being so close to the SL1. I wouldn't mind seeing new Models too, because I'll still be the lucky bloke owning a 'real' 6

I'll tell you the reasons: fret wear, body dings, belt rash, deteriorated or rusted JT-6, broken headstocks, headstock tips with dings, bowed necks...

It's very rare to find a Model series Charvel second hand in MINT condition (specially if you're in Europe)
