charvel cx290 mostly... i think

I have this guitar wich i cant really figure out. So far it seems to be a cx291 body and a cx290 neck ( Japanese right?). But the more info i get about it the more questions rise up.
Here are some pics about things that puzzle me.

the headstock is different from the headstocks i saw on another cx290 , shape and logo, the pick ups have marked covers , the tuners are marked with charvel logos too ... etc
Sorry if these are all very stupid questions im just not charvel-educated [img]/images/graemlins/smirk.gif[/img] ...yet

The early CX Series guitars were actually stratheads. Then after the lawsuit took place concerning all stratheads, the eagle-beak design was adopted.

Were those even good guitars? I thought about the time of the beak design the only Charvels available were the CX models... Gone were the Avenger, Predator, 275, 375, 575, 675, STX etc etc.

A Vintage Guitar shop just recently opened up near here. He has a Black and White CX-290 hanging on the wall and wants....make sure you guys are sitting down $495. [img]/images/graemlins/eek.gif[/img] I almost knocked over a Marshall stack when I saw the price.
I asked if it was a pricing mistake and said that these barely clear $125 on the bay. He said I didn't know what I was talking about. That it was a quality USA made piece. I just turned and walked out.
If he sells it for anywhere near that I'm going to buy one off of ebay and have my brother take it in there and sell it to him for a small profit.

I just bought a cx290 at a local pawnshop it has emg pickups instead of the stock ones and it screams. Total price was 75 bucks. I called around and found out that they were actually made in Japan and are better built than some of the new Jacksons.
