  • Need help on a body ID....

Thinking about picking up this EVH deal, but wanted to know what model this was off of. Know it's a Charvel (Maybe Charvette), just not what model. Any body have any clue? Also, what scale neck did this thing take?

looks to be a Charvel 275DLX and was the 25.5 scale.

it looks mighty close to my fusion special though, which is a 24.75 scale.

Just by glancing at the body, I'd say it's a Fusion-type body that'll take a short scale (24 3/4) 24-fret neck. I think I can make out the scoop in the lower horn that these things came with...Charvel or Charvette.

The scoop in the horn isn't always indicative of a Fusion, granted in identifying a 275 from a Fusion SP it will come into play. So by looking at the pictures given, I'd say that the scoop is a mod. The scoops on dinkies or fusions didn't extend all the way up the horn like this, nor were they done in back. (not sure why there is a scallop in the back of the body)

I'm going Fusion Special on that one. The space between the pickups is way too small for the longer 275 scale.

OK, I stand corrected. Maybe we need to get some folks to measure the distance between the tremolo route to the neck pocket on Dinkies and Fusions to get a better grip on identifying bodies.

I was gonna say Fusion too after your post Tekky..that was my first impression.

do note, this is relic, aka 'phallic' master as well.

Relicaster = Relicmaster? I'm not seeing a link between the two.

My mistake if there is no association between the two..but for some reason this name sticks in my head as well.
It could be just out of similarity to the other.

The thing has obviously been futzed with... the bottom of the body by the upper arm contour looks odd.

No need to edit. At first glance I thought it said "relicmasters" too.

                          Thanks guys...

I was pretty sureit took a 24 fretter, but not what scale. I'm pretty convinced it's a Fussion, so I need to source out a 24 fretter (24 3/4 scale) to go with this dealio.

The pickup routes are wrong for a fusion. That looks like a 275 body to me. 25.5" scale 22 fret neck. A fusion has a straight bridge humbucker with a slanted single in the neck. I believe some of the later 275s came with the scoop on the lower horn and with the single locking Schaller bridge like that one.

The Fusion SP had the slanted double single-coil bridge config just like the 275.
