That's the Fusion model. Well, short scale bolt on 24 frets is a fusion. Regular scale neck-throughs all had 22 frets.

Nope you are correct there is a model with short scale.It was made for one year , the 750XL.It came with a mahogany body , 3/4 inch flame maple top , maple set neck but looks like neck thru and rosewood board.It came as a string thru(very hard to find) and a trem version.

Ignore my post above - I had a brain fart. Neck throughs like the soloists were 24 frets... and the 750XL was also 24 and short scale.

What's the current market as far as availability/rareness and price averages on say, a 750XL?
Also could anyone clue me in on the features, specs &/or finish options that were available on these?
BTW..I've only been here a little while, but I gotta say this is one of the coolest boards and you guys have rocked in tolerating my "newness"/ignorance regarding this subject. THANK YOU!

One of the best ways to check current market value is to search completed auctions on eBay. I'm unsure of the features/colors but I have a few catalogs at home I can check. I'm sure someone else will chime in before I get home though.

Here is a scan of the catalog.I would say that anywhere between $400-600 would be a fair price.The string thru version would be higher in price as they are the rarer of the two.The trems are much easier to come by.I bought the last one that came up on ebay back in October and got it for $450.00

I had a Charvel 650 and it was the shit(silver metalflake).The only thing I didn't like about it was the PU select I like the 3 mini on/off switches better.it played just as well as my model 6 but I prefer the kahler over any floyd...

my only experience with toothpaste logo'd Charvels is with the Charvel Predator, i wish i had bought one because i loved most of the features and it's construction (plus i found out later on that Tommy Victor of Prong had used one consistently from the Beg To Differ through the Prove You Wrong albums, and i really dug his variety of tones in that era), but opted for a Jackson Dinky Reverse at the time because it had a 24 fret neck...but since discovering those pics of the 550xl and the 750xl, I'd really like to check those models out...or just trade my Soloist Pro for a Model 5...but my Soloist went through a flood (TS Allison 2001) and survived with some swell cracks on the backsid...

I had a 550xl in platinum sparkle with chrome hardware. Played amazing, and looked great with green DiMarzios!
