Re: Help Identifying my Jackson Charvel please?

That makes sense! The 3rd knob wasn't doing much so the battery may need to be replaced. This board RULES thanks everyone! Anyone know about what year this guitar would be? Thanks! MJK

With the Floyd or JT-6 on a model 4, then it should be between 1987 and 1988.

I'm sorry! Not like mine! Mine's a natural neck and bolt on! So sorry!

            24 frets + neck-thru = Model 6
            22 frets + bolt-on = Model 4

It says Licensed Floyd... is the JT-6 similar then?

Re: Help Identifying my Jackson Charvel please?

the JT-6 is a licensed version of the Floyd Rose design. The major difference is the location of the fine-tuners. On a JT-6 they are part of the string-lock screw assembly.

Oh! So if the fine tuners are at the headstock it's a JT-6 then right?

Re: Help Identifying my Jackson Charvel please?

On this axe the fine tuners at off the bridge, so I guess it's not a JT-6 model then.

Re: Help Identifying my Jackson Charvel please?

If it's like the trem you posted in the ebay auction, that's a JT-6, which is Jackson's licensed Floyd version. It's made of a cheaper metal than a real Floyd, but they work very well, and I always liked the fine tuners back around the string locks instead of on top like a typical Floyd. Other people don't like it as much, but I thought they were a decent trem.

Off the bridge? Pointing towards the bottom (far right) of the guitar or on top of the upward structure of the baseplate?

Well now that I'm "finally" getting into Charvel Jackson I definitely look forward to coming here and learning all I can! I had a friend who came here that I met thru eBay. He passed away about a year ago, a terrible shock to me. He sold me a Guild Brian May guitar and worked for Ford around the Cincinati Ohio area. Great guy, great player... He was ALWAYS talking about how great this board is but I didn't own a Jackson Charvel so when he made me sign up here, I never came on! But yes, it's very cool here. MJK
