Re: Help Identifying a Charvel Model
Considering how much of a reputation the model series have (the headstock says it's from the same era), I doubt it'll play bad unless it got tortured.
And yeah I didn't take it badly Tekky. I didn't know for sure it was one, I had never seen any before. I don't think I've ever seen any fusions. But it's all I could gather and it seems that it's all we can get from here too...

Re: Help Identifying a Charvel Model
It is the same route as the model 3DR. There's nothing wrong with it. It's just the precursor to today's recessed tremolo routings.
It's hard to tell what era this is or whether it is a mutt or not. We have no documentation on the guitar. However, again, with two of these popping up in the same week, I agree with those who say it's an overseas Charvel that was never sent to the US.
I would love to tell you more about it, but without documentation there's no way I can be sure of anything.Occupy JCF

Re: Help Identifying a Charvel Model
I'm thinking Fusion Plus, but that logo is just sticking in my craw. Though the point may be moot when the results of the neck measurement comes back.
At the very least we'll have two additions to the MoAIP.Occupy JCF

Re: Help Identifying a Charvel Model
What´s the MoAIP?
I´ll have a 3 charvel , but this time... a AMERICAN made one.
the only strange thing on it is that the nut is made by Kahler and the bridge by Takeiuchi/charvel
any clue on this model? i´ll post it when i receive fotos.

Re: Help Identifying a Charvel Model
The MoAIP is the Mother of All Info Pages. It is a database of all Jackson/Charvel production models. I have been working on it for a while. (and don't bother asking when it will be done)
I'm not sure what we can tell you besides we have no clue what your model is. We have no documentation that indicates these features on any known production guitar that was released in the US.
We do know that your guitar is made in Japan.
Depending on the neck scale it is either a Dinky (25.5") or a Fusion (24.75"). Which specific Dinky or Fusion? Again there is no documetation of this guitar model that we are aware of. Now, this guitar shares features with several documented models, but they are of different eras. For example: The tremolo routing, guitar logo, and Kahler locking nut are indicative of a 1988 Charvel. However, the modern Dinky-ish body style (the first Dinky body, the Model 3DR, had shorter horns), offset-dot inlay, and Takeuchi tremolo are indicative of something more modern.Occupy JCF

Re: Help Identifying a Charvel Model
Tekky check this out. I saw this when it first listed. A Charvel neck plate without the Fort Worth Addy just like these two guitars we are looking at.
web page
I'm starting to wonder what other models may be floating around out there that for what ever reason was never imported here. Obviously with these two there was at least one model(whatever its official name) that never was imported here.
Any chance these may be new to the overseas market? Speculating which I don't like to do, maybe gearing up far a new import line of Charvels?

Re: Help Identifying a Charvel Model
From my discussion with the folks at JCMI, there are no plans for an import Charvel line. The focus is on USA at this point.
With that said, it is certainly perplexing that these two show up suddenly. We all know that there were models released outside of the US, but for some reason if any brochures or actual examples exist, they have eluded us.Occupy JCF
