I got rid of a Charvel Model 5 back in the late '80's, it was a extremely good sounding one. I always regretted trading it, becuase it really had a slamming, big, fat tone that could put many Les Pauls to shame. I've searched for another with the same tone but never could find one that sounded anywhere near as good. I've owned tons of other Model series guitars since then, as well as San Dimas Charvels, Ontario Charvels and Jacksons, but I still missed that particular guitar greatly.
Yesterday I went to the friends store who I traded it in all those years ago, and there hung a Model 5 that looked identical to the one I got rid of! So I started asking the owner some questions about it. The store owner said he got it in on trade and sold it to a guy over 15 years ago, and he traded back it in a few days ago. Could it be??? Plugged it in, and there it was, the same badass tone!! Yes!!! It has to be the same guitar.
I need to do a refret because the frets are toast, but overall it still is in pretty good shape.
I'm stoked.
