• Switching trem bridges on Model Series

Okay, so I had a Model 3 apart tonight. This one in particular has the Jackson Floyd on it (made in Taiwan by the way ). After I cleaned it all up I wanted to swap the bridge for either an Ibanez Lo-Pro Edge, a Schaller, or an OFR.

Well, it appears that none of them will work? The block that the springs attach to on the Jackson is a good bit longer than on the other 3, resulting in the blocks appearing to be too short to go far enough down into the cavity. Has anyone else been in this predicament? If so, what have you done? Thanks.

The other 3 trems have shorter blocks, suitable for recessing into the face of the guitar. You can buy longer blocks to replace the shorter ones on your Schaller & OFR (don't know about the Edge). I can't remember for sure what lengths they come in, but I believe it's 32mm, 37mm & 42mm

Wow, I didn't know you could do that. Now that I think about it, I have a BC Rich ST III that cam with a non-recessed Ibanez Edge. Any info as to where I can get these longer blocks from? Thanks for the reply.

An OFR should come with a long block.
Just one more guitar!
