Sell any great Charvels and regret it years later?

Here are two Charvels that I purchased in the late 80's and early 90's. The 1st is an '86 Model 6 with the Kahler trem while the 2nd is the 475 Deluxe. Two very different guitars in terms of tone and feel but great axes nevertheless.

I sold them a few years later and recently made it a point to find them (model wise) and not sell them this time around.

I sold my best friend in high school my Model 2. At the time, I had a Model 4, a 375 and Gibson SG, so I was pretty set. I wanted to encourage him and help him get into playing, so I let the Model 2 go for the same price I paid ($175).

He still has it. It's sitting in his garage. He keeps telling me he's going to play it. I just think of it baking in a garage in 105-degree heat, and I want to strangle him. He's refused to sell it back to me. Because he "might" play it again "one of these days."

Try to score some cheap Squire or the like and see if he will trade you. That way you get your Model 2 back and he still has a guitar for that "one day".

One of my biggest regrets was trading off my 1986 Model 2. For years I kicked myself for letting it go. I always said I would try and find one just like it. Well as most of you guys know I topped that idea by stumbling across my very own 1986 Model 2 in a local pawn shop.

Here she is in 1986.


And now almost 20 years later.


Now my only regret is trading in my 1977 strat for my 1989 Model 375.

I had a pair of nice Kahler Model 5's in the 80's, a blue one and a white one. They both were great sounding guitars because I picked thru a bunch of them at the time. I sold both of them around 1990. Luckily I recently got back the blue one, but I am still keeping an eve out for the white one.

I used to own a model 4M for years,Then I bought a red on off my friend. Well I sold both of them and I really regreat doing that.For years I kicked myself in the butt. Then about three years ago I found one in a local music store. Even though I've had may usa jacksons over the years and sold them I still had a soft spot for those charvels. anyway I've got my charvel and i tell you It feels better than most usa models. It needs a little work done but I will never part with it. I dont know maybe those model series take me back to my youth,and maybe thats why I have a soft for them. I can't belive what you can but them for these days.

I sold my self painted German Stuka Warbird graphic model 2 to raise some money at tax time a year ago. I don't have pics, but someone here may have saved the files from when I posted them. It played killer and sounded great. I miss it sorely.

Regret it years later? Every Charvel I've sold I regret at the time!! Sometimes you've gotta pay the bills though...

Over the past few years I've collected 3 charvel model series guitars and 1 750XL,I'll never sell these as they are the best playing guitars I've come across.They were too exspensive when I was a teenager,and now I'm at a time when I can afford them,34years old.Best guitars in this price range.

I've sold 2 1986 Model 6s and regretted both, but had no choice either time. One had a shattered glass graphic which I've never seen another of those, the other was blue. Sucks when the bills come and you're broke...
