C - Charvel, made in Japan
90 - year it was made, this guitar was made in 1990
1960 - your guitar was the 1,960th neck through Charvel made in Japan in 1990
Awesome guitar BTW, equal in quality to the USA Soloist of the day.
yeah, it needs to be set up a little bit, but not bad for 350bucks I found a grey hardshell Charvel Case on evil bay for 99 and it fits (a little snug but fits)
I say not bad, cause it has some cosmetic challenges
Sounds good though. Might play with the pups though, gotta wait n see what the sound like through a real amp and system first though.
I'm not confident that anyone has come up with a viable serial number scheme. There seem to be holes in most of the theories that I've seen so far. Probably the best thing to realize is that it's an 89-91 Japanese-made neck-thru and they're great guitars. (that's what I hear anyway, I am not really crazy about neck-thru guitars)

Actually, that's a 1989. The first number in the serial # denotes the last number of the year of manufacture. A C0xxxxx would have been a 1990 guitar.

Ah, I stand corrected. You are right.
I knew that too, I really did

if the C9 is 89 charvel does the 0 stand for the color? its white?

No, I think J/C was just leaving themselves room in case they made more than 9,999 Japanese neckthrus in any given year. Not that they ever have, have they?
