Basswood would be probably lighter. As far as I know it should be poplar.

Yeah, my 650xl is a heavy guitar as well. I haven't actually weighed it, but it seems at least as heavy as my 750xl's.

yeah, when I was calling all the shops in branson to find out who sold Jacksons, the told me in was ebony. The rosewood is VERY dark indeed... I think the mods that I am going to do are all gonna be just Cosmetic... swap the hardware to chrome, and the rear tone is bad or really dirty. I am gonna try to have some one touch up the paint on it too, its got some places where the clear is gone. The guy who had it played for a living, so it was a tool, not a baby like it will be for me...Comment

it got some clear coat missing from the lower horn, and a chip in the headstock, and the guitar is a little yellowed. but hell its 15 years old....Comment
