I just got Swete Pete's Model 3A yesterday. Great axe.
I have never owned a model series Charvel...only toothpaste.
It has an interesting setup. It has had the JT-6 replaced with a later Charvel logo'd Floyd copy. It is not flush to the body, but sits up enough for pull ups as well as dives. The neck is not flat in the neck pocket like a toothpaste. It is angled downward...creating the correct geometry for the raised Floyd. I asked Pete if the neck was shimmed in the rear for this, because I was thinking of dropping the trem down to the body. He didn't know as this was how he got it.
Is the neck supposed to fit flush in the pocket, or are the pockets angled on Model series?
If need be, I can take a picture. I reminds me of a Gibson set neck in terms of geometry. It all works quite well, however.
Anyone know?
Mike
