For clarification, the serial number is the number on the end of the fretboard, correct?

When I bought it, I was told it wasn't the serial number and it was quite possibly a custom shop prototype guitar...but it's the only number on the guitar, so I assume it must be the serial number, correct?

To me it sounds liek mahogany, but it could be alder...what type of wood is that? What type of wood is the neck made from?

Maple top (mine looks like Eastern maple), mahogany body, maple neck, rosewood board.
