Here are my two babies that will go with me to the grave.
My '87 Model 6 and my early '90's 375.
I know I've said it before but I am thrilled with just how much guitar you get for your money with these Charvels. I purchased that 375 with original chainsaw case for $173.00 from ebay.
This guitar must have honestly sat underneath someones bed for the last decade as it is truely mint. It still had the plastic on the truss rod cover! No fret wear at all and shines like new too!
Both have Seymour Duncan Full Shreds at the bridge and the Model 6 sports an OFR in place of that JT-6.
The Model 6 my all time favorite. These "Japanese Soloists" play so smooth and sustain for days. Swap out the JT-6 for an OFR or at the very least a Schaller as well as a good bridge humbucker and you are set.
I just sold a Model 1 that I picked up at a local pawnshop the other weekend. Another dead mint find with that great maple fingerboard too. Not needing another Strat style single coil non locking guitar I quickly sold it on ebay.
Kinda wished I'd kept the neck to add to a Model 2 down the road though.
Ahhh GAS is such a dreadful thing huh?
BTW call me crazy but an OFR is by far brighter sounding than an Schaller. I elected to keep it on the Model 6 as it was a little lacking in top end and the OFR took care of that.
Never thought that a trem would change the tone that much but boy was I ever wrong!
Now all I need is to hunt down some good mini humbuckers to replace those "single coils" in the Model 6.
