First of: How pointy can a Strat get?

Second: There's a hole in my model 4's neck

Third: I put my model 4's neck into the model 1a as you can see and er... there's space left in the neck pocket. I can slide in a piece of paper between the right side of the pocket and the neck.
Quick questions: how long does it usually take for new strings to settle in and stop buzzing? I thought that putting the 4's neck in the 1a it'd stop the buzzing but hell no! So so far, it seems that the model 1a's neck is not faulty. Which is weird as hell to me It buzzes on the frets so it's not the bridge so it HAS to be the frets! But if the strings just aren't settled yet, that'd explain

Sounds to me like you'd need to shim the neck in some manner(?)...

That is an 87 or 88 model 4 neck. Those came with the JT6 trems(floyd style). If you compare the base your model 4 neck to your model 1 neck, you'll see that the model 1 neck is flat where it mounts to the body. The model 4 neck is slighty shaved so that the neck doesn't require a shim for the JT6.

You made need to shim the rear of the neck pocket to level the neck in the pocket for the standard trem of the Model 1A. I hope this makes sense for you.

Isn't it the neck pocket from the model 4's body that's angled down?
And yeah those are both 88s.
