I finally put my Fusion Special together with parts from my old one and a recent eBay purchase. Tonight put strings on it. I'm no tech but I guess I was lucky, it's jamming again. I'll take pics of the whole happy family as soon as I get the Greenie here.
Well I played the Fusion last night and it was good at chunk but a knocked it out of tune with bends and solos. Seems my trem needs some help - or a whole new unit. In it's current state, a worthy downstroke axe for a Good Charlotte, Simple Plan, or Greenday tour! My old Duncan SH-8 Invader pickups from 88' make it thick.
I owned a Jackson Dinky import and later that year got my Charvel Fusion for xmas from my wife. Both were nearly identical in size but I was amazed how fast I could play the Fusion. The neck size and scale made a difference. I sold the Jackson.
Oh.. I also like mine because it was a gift from my loving wife (in case she ever reads this)
There are a bunch of user reviews on the Charvel Fusions on Harmony-Central.com. Most of the reviews describe their guitars hardware and pickup configuration, etc.
And here is a great site with tons of standard and modded wiring diagrams for most set-ups you could think of. www.guitarelectronics.com
I had the XL Model.....It was Good guitar, especially for ripping but tone wise, It didnt do anything for me,m was very thin, even when I swapped the pups!
