Re: Fusion variations

here's an overview -according to my knowledge- of the import Jackson Fusion's:
<table width="100%" border="1">
<tr>
<td>model</td>
<td>year</td>
<td>specs</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Fusion PRO</td>
<td>1990-1992</td>
<td></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Fusion XL
</td>
<td>1992-1994
</td>
<td>to the catalogue page</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Fusion EX
</td>
<td>1992-1995
</td>
<td>to the catalogue page</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Fusion STD
</td>
<td>1992-1995
</td>
<td>to the catalogue page</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Fusion HH
</td>
<td>1992-1995
</td>
<td>to the catalogue page</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>FX1

(successor)</td>
<td>1996
</td>
<td>to the catalogue page</td>
</tr>
</table>

before the 90's, Charvel carried a line of at least 5 different import Fusion's </p>

Charvel Fusion Special

Charvel Fusion Deluxe

Charvel Fusion Plus

Charvel Fusion Custom

Charvel Fusion Pro

</p>

FYI

I took some pics last night. Haven't gotten them back yet. I noticed on the neck joint of my "angled dual-singles" model it's stamped "Fusion SP 7"

The Fusion is alive again

I finally put my Fusion Special together with parts from my old one and a recent eBay purchase. Tonight put strings on it. I'm no tech but I guess I was lucky, it's jamming again. I'll take pics of the whole happy family as soon as I get the Greenie here.

so, according to that the fusion deluxes are late 80's models?

Re: The Fusion is alive again

Well I played the Fusion last night and it was good at chunk but a knocked it out of tune with bends and solos. Seems my trem needs some help - or a whole new unit. In it's current state, a worthy downstroke axe for a Good Charlotte, Simple Plan, or Greenday tour! My old Duncan SH-8 Invader pickups from 88' make it thick.

Re: The Fusion is alive again

Out of interest, why are the fusions so loved. Where they just all extra special or something?

Re: The Fusion is alive again

I owned a Jackson Dinky import and later that year got my Charvel Fusion for xmas from my wife. Both were nearly identical in size but I was amazed how fast I could play the Fusion. The neck size and scale made a difference. I sold the Jackson.

Oh.. I also like mine because it was a gift from my loving wife (in case she ever reads this)

Re: The Fusion is alive again

There are a bunch of user reviews on the Charvel Fusions on Harmony-Central.com. Most of the reviews describe their guitars hardware and pickup configuration, etc.

And here is a great site with tons of standard and modded wiring diagrams for most set-ups you could think of.
