When the model series was new, was the model 1 the cheapest of the lot? If so, was it cheaper because it was considered entry level or was it just cheaper because it lacked expensive features like locking trems, etc.Would you say that the quality was the same as a model 4 or 6?

Re: Model 1 relative value
So then it was just a matter of picking the features that you wanted. Like you would choose a model 1 over a 3 because you didnt want a 2 point trem and it would just happen to be cheaper to do it that way, but still equal in quality?

Re: Model 1 relative value
exactly.
I remember a number of models being available when I bought my guitar in NYC in early 87. I wanted the one hum, so I got the Model 2. so much guitar, now so long ago! the guitar players look damaged - they've been outcasts all their lives

Re: Model 1 relative value
I used the words "at least" because they're probably all the same factory. But I admit I'm not 100% sure about that. I'm just speaking from a setup perspective. You'd obviously have to have a slightly different setup to do bolt-ons as compared to neck-thrus.Occupy JCF
