Re: Model 2 Question

I am hunting for these older Model 2's in local GC's and Pawn Shops as are alot of people. Is there a database or something like that which will make ID easier ?

Re: Model 2 Question

? I'm currently working on a database, but it's not hard to ID a Model 2.

Locking tremolo, pointed headstock, single humbucker, strat body, and rosewood fretboard, single volume knob.

In 1986 the tremolo was the Kahler Fulcrum.
In 1987-1988 the tremolo was the Jackson JT-6.

Re: Model 2 Question

My '86 Model 2 was originally Burgundy Mist. I guess that was the name, it was a metallic bergundy. The paint was original and had a Kahler.

No, unfortunatly it was stolen by a "friend" I loaned it to a few years ago. I used to have the serial number but it was lost in the shuffle.

Serial numbers don't help though. Any pictures of it? You sure it wasn't modified?

Re: Model 2 Question

Pretty sure it was not modified. I bought it used from a guitar store in Pasadena, TX in 1989. It was mint with a tweed case. The paint was defiantly stock and the trem route looked stock. No idea why anyone would reroute a Floyd for a Kahler anyway To my knowledge Kahler + Mod 2 was an '86, I didn't know anything about the colors offered. I REALLY wish I had it back now.

Are you sure it was the kahler fulcrum tremolo and not a flatmount? I've seen people put flatmounts on Model 2s before.

It was a fulcrum, same as the one on my model 3A I just posted pics of HERE . No doubt about it.
