  • Anyone recall that website with the Model 88 info?

    I recall seeing a link to a website with some info and history of the Model 88. Anyone know of such a link?

    You're in luck! Budman just posted it the other day, so it was easy to find.

        What is teh average going price for these guitars? From mint to player condition that is.

        Is it really true that less than 1000 (or 700 as some would say) were made?

          I always heard that 500 were released in the states & 500 elsewhere. Lately, the 700ish number has been brought up, but if you look at the serial #s listed on the guy's site, there's a #931 in Finland & a #989 owned by someone named Tero. C/J was known to have had problems putting plates on in order, at least on the USA models, but I just have to believe they made 1000 of these. I think these guitars kick serious ass & I'd like one, but in the relatively short time I've been a Charvel fan more of these have popped up than quite a few other models. I don't think of them as rare at all.

            I had 2 of them :

            # 0266, refinished

            (paid below $300)
            # 0488, vg original

            (paid below $400)

            they are relative easy to find in the US, but not in Europe;
            both guitars were purchased by the belgium group LENG TCH'E (http://www.razorgrind.com), so they are considered worth playing live!
