I was just at my local mega used guitar store. I am not a strat player, but the model series guitar has a maple neck, with the standard headstock. The body was black, with lots of swirling on the back. The electronics and black pickguard are original. It has a vintage style trem. There is lots of rust on the screws.( Japan is super humid). I am mostly just interested in the maple neck. The guitar sells for $190 w/ converion to USD. Is this worth it? This is the first standard strat style model series that I have come across. It has the correct pointy peg head with a standard strat body. All I really want is the neck. Is it worth it?

Re: How much is a maple neck strat style worth?
Sounds like a Model 1. Seems like anything under $200 is a pretty good deal on one of these nowadays, unless it is really beat up (or you get lucky at a pawn shop.) Not sure how common loose Model Series necks are over there, but that's always an option if all you want is the neck. The maple-boarded ones are more in-demand than ever & seem to be hitting around $100 lately on eBay.
