  • Was this a fair price for a Model 88?

I was watching this auction and was planning on bidding until it hit the $400 mark. It sold for $490 in the end.

Is that what these are going for these days?

Seems in line with how they've been going. I don't think you'll see one end much lower than that on eBay unless it's beat up. There's too much interest in them, and they're damn sweet. The best I've seen anyone get one for on eBay was when Mark (mm2002) nabbed a minty one with a stupid-low BIN from a clueless seller. Might have been sub-$200, it's been a while. IIRC, it was listed with no pics or something. It pays to ask questions!

Yes, I scored 0160 (I think) for a stupid low price a couple of years ago. Now, the one that just sold on eBay wasn't such a good deal considering someone swiped the original neck plate. The serial # they listed is just a regular model series plate. This should have a 4 digit plate. Ruined it for me. I'd imagine the buyer isn't aware of this fact. Without the plate the guitar may be worth $250.00 tops in my opinion.

No Charvel case or COA either. The seller did pretty well this time I think.
