Black Model 4- Did I do well on this auction?

I have owned nothing but H/S/S Charvel/Jacksons all my life and really wanted a Model that had nothing but twin humbuckers to get over my Les Paul urge. I know that they are not even in the same ballpark but then nor is my post Xmas budget either.

Was this a good deal for a $200 B.I.N ?

Model 3C I believe. The a has a pickguard. That's not a model 4, model 4 is HSS with midboost and individual switches.

That is model 3A. Pickups are j-80c if i remember correctly.

So $200 would be a fair deal I suppose? It's even got the original arm for the JT-6 trem.

Good deal for sure. These Charvels don't last long with BIN on Ebay unless they are ridiculously priced. Yes it's a 3A. Not sure what a 3C is...

Besides scrapping the JT-6 for a OFR are there any pickups that you might suggest I install in the guitar?

And did those J80 pickups have adjustable pole pieces under those plastic covers like some Model 2's did?

I think you stole the guitar. That's a great price! I definitely would have bought that if I would have seen it.
EMG's are a good choice for pickup replacements.

How about a J-90c bridge and a Seymour Duncan Jazz (adding the black Jackson plastic cover over it though) for the neck?

Is a J-90c that good of a pickup?

I kind of thought that all stock Charvel pickups were not that hot?

The J-90c is a great pickup especially for high gain shredding if that's your thing.
