New Charvel Model series are out in Japan!!!!!!!!!

Ok, our NAMM is long over. (Anyone can go in Japan, you don't need a pass). The guitars are finally advertised in magazines over here, so I don' think anyone will be steamed.

They have Warren's crossed swords, snakeskin and a few others. They have many single hums. The necks are oiled, the logo is on a slightly altered Strathead. (The headstocks look way better that the Journeyman models). The necks are oiled. The bad...the price is stupidly high to compete with the US versions. They will be around $1600!!!!!

Tekky,a friend of mine told me 2 weeks ago that a article in the MF catalog mentioned a strat head import.I asked him to bring the catalog into work,but I have been on vacation and haven't talked to him.Maybe some truth to it after all.........

They are maple fret board guitars. The necks are all oil finished. They look stunning, save for the slightly-off headstocks.

If you type into Google: Charvel Japan Model C, you will see the bad link for 'MusicLand Key's' ad, where I originally saw the Crosswed Swords in print.

There is another version of the model C, which looks like a soloist in a way and a model D which looks like a poor mans soloist with a Charvel logo. None of these look right. They look nothing like a Charvel. Only the high end versions, which I have seen at a ticket of ¥198,00 look good, save for the headstock.

These were tiny pictures in a national guitar magazine that is quadruple the size of guitar player and filled with ads. I have no scans of these tiny shots, credit card size shots. Sorry.

These look like they might be from the trade show El Kabong was talking about. I like the paint & love the maple boards. I like 24 fret guitars, but I just think it's wrong for these models. Pretty sweet, though.

Exactly, dg! To the left of the white headstock was another snakeskin, by the shots, I saw. I was not at the show, but a friend said they saw these. (I was not into paing $300 for the return bullet train ride). Thanks for posting the pics. I still have no idea of why the Crossed Swords say, 'London' in katakana though.

I'm not too crazy about a 24-fret dinky Charvel with the pseudo-strat headstock. They may as well have just labeled these Jacksons. (which is my issue with the 2002-2003 import run)
